Almadina's story began in 1996 with the incorporation of Almadina Pharmacy Company Limited in Zaria, Kaduna State. At the time, finding genuine and affordable medicines was a real problem for many Nigerian families. The company set out to fix that through dependable supply, proper storage, partnerships with reputable manufacturers and honest service.

From pharmacy to hospital

The people who built Almadina came from pharmacy, medicine and logistics. As the company grew, so did its understanding of what families in Zaria needed. Medicines on their own could not do the job. Patients also needed qualified doctors, accurate diagnosis, nursing, emergency treatment, surgery and specialists. Almadina Hospital opened in 2002 to bring those services together.

Growing through partnership

In 2006 the IDA Foundation, an international supplier of affordable healthcare products, authorised Almadina to import and distribute generic medicines, medical consumables and laboratory equipment. That partnership strengthened our commitment to properly sourced products at fair prices.

Investing in healthcare education

Nigeria needs well-trained nurses. Almadina College of Nursing Sciences was set up to help meet that need, and in 2024 it received approval from the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria, the National Board for Technical Education and the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board.

The work continues

Through every stage, one belief has guided Almadina: good healthcare changes the lives of individuals, families and communities. Our work continues.
